Foster the City
A Church for Every Child
Year Founded: 2015
Venture HQ: Bay Area, CA
Venture Bio:
We inspire and equip churches to provide a loving home for every child entering foster care. We provide resources, coaching, a pathway and tools to create strong fostering communities. Our dream is to one day see a waiting list of families, rather than a waiting list of children in need of a home. (Nonprofit)
More Info:
-
There are more children entering foster care than families ready to welcome them. The church is uniquely positioned and called to meet this need. If a fraction of churches in our cities raise up one Foster Family with a Support Team, we'll have more than enough loving homes for every child.
-
We provide churches with resources to inspire their congregation to get engaged, a pathway of next steps for Foster Families and Support Teams, ongoing coaching to help build sustainable foster care ministries and tools to help families receive the support they need to foster longer and stronger.
-
In each area that we serve, we hope to see - year over year - a decreased percentage of children displaced from their communities due to a shortage of Foster Families. One day, we hope to see more than enough loving, supported homes for children entering foster care.
